Abstract:

An investigation was made into the publication of CFL learner’s dictionaries in China, concerning
their formatting and pricing. Then, by means of questionnaires and interviews, a group of international students who
study Chinese at universities in Guangzhou were investigated in order to get information about their use of and demands
on CFL learner’s dictionaries, especially those of dictionary format, size, price, etc. On the basis of the survey,
suggestions were put forward to improve the publication of CFL learner’s dictionaries.
