Abstract:

Some new characteristics of mass reading are appearing while the new media age is coming. Today,
the readers read not only paper books but all kinds of media. They read for amusement instead of utility. According to
these new characteristics, all book editors should form a new opinion named mega-reading view. They should use all
sense organs when they edit manuscripts, and they should know authors through varieties of channels. Besides, the
editors should have the initiative to meet the readers’ demand. Anyway, the book editors should try their best to
promote the combination between the traditional reading and the new media.
