Abstract:

This paper analyzes two kinds of errors existing in manuscripts and proofs, expounds the view that today
the one function of proofreading, checking similarities and differences between manuscripts and proofs is weakening while
the other function of checking errors in manuscripts is strengthening, and demonstrates the importance and the usage of
the latter.
