Abstract:

The present paper deals with the strategies for sharpening the competitive edge of the publishing
ventures which have evolved from the institutions affiliated to the departments of government on basis of the
science-based development and the circumstances of both home and abroad. As the core of the publishing
ventures, the competitive edge of the publishing ventures of China is relatively blunt compared with that of their
counterparts of the developed countries at present because they have just broken away from their old operation
system. It is necessary to improve our competitive edge both for the publication power construction and for the
participation in the world market competition. The strategies and approaches are proposed to sharp the
competitive edges of the publishing ventures following the analysis of the connotation and inscapes of competitive
edge of publishing ventures so as to accelerate the development of publishing industry in China.
