Abstract:

E-textbooks, developed from digital technology, have yet to be widely accepted because of the unsatisfactory functions
of electronic reading devices. Tablet PCs like the iPad, boasting advantages such as portability, user-friendliness, etc., are ideal
reading devices for e-textbooks. What’ s more, multi-touch function and excellent program-running ability of tablet PCs open
a new era of interaction for e-textbooks. Publishers abroad are far ahead in developing interactive e-textbooks and have obta
ined success. Domestic publishers should utilize the chance to produce e-textbooks suitable for Chinese learners.
