Abstract: Doctor Zhang Jingsheng, used to be a professor of Peking University, went to Shanghai in 1926. Then he established the Meide Bookstore, which was quite particular in the book industry. He announced his grand publishing plan to the public, which touched Hu Shi and Wang Yunwu.
