Abstract:

Liu Guangyu is one of the famous editors of contemporary China. His editorial research focuses on two aspects, i.e. the basic theory of editing science and the history of editing and publishing. His editorial thought is reflected by the following aspects: starting from the concept of taking publishing as standard, he has put forward an editorial concept which takes editing and publishing as standard; based on the research of fundamental editorial theories, he has developed a more systematic editorial philosophy; by attaching importance to the social and cultural relations of editing, he has created an “intermediary service approach” in editorial research; he has put forward a concept of editorial history that “editing exists only if publishing exists”.
