Abstract: [Abstract]　Fan Yong is a famous book binding artist of our time. He had established a unique book binding concept in his more than 70 years’research and practice. He proposed to use different elements and different colors to design the book according to its characteristics and its style, so that books will be full of charm, and the design can highlight the content of the characteristics and reflect the essence of the author’s thought. He also stressed that in the design of book binding, attention should be paid to the harmony between the whole and the details, including the format and the overall style, illustrations and image of personality, paper and characteristics of publishing. He also paid special attention to the visual transmission power of the cover and the absorptive power of readers.
